Hermanus
Western Cape · World’s Best Land-Based Whale Watching
About Hermanus
Hermanus is a coastal town in the Western Cape province, renowned as one of the world’s best destinations for land-based whale watching. Every year between June and December, southern right whales migrate to Walker Bay to calve and nurse their young. The town has a unique whale crier who announces whale sightings by blowing a kelp horn. Hermanus also offers world-class shark cage diving, beautiful cliff path walks, stunning vineyards and fresh seafood.
